This saddle is one of a kind. I love it. It’s light and it opens up wide. It sits very Comfortable. I added a set of suspenders and that was money.
Bought the EDP platform this year as my first platform. I could not be happier with the decision to go with that platform. I tried to choose the middle ground between Size, Cost, and Weight of currently available platforms from all brands and landed with the EDP. It works like advertised. Only modification i made was to do away with the factory strap and cinch buckle it came with to save weight and more importantly noise during setup and tear down. I chose to use an Amsteel attachment instead. Was able to harvest my first deer ever from a saddle and platform this year on a nice WV mountain buck. The platform and saddle allowed me to slip in and get setup quickly and quietly for the evening hunt that i waited for a week to get the correct wind to hunt this spot. Thanks for a great product.
Canvas material too loud when moved around the body. Sling bag better suited for noisey outdoor events like fishing. Not geared for any quiet hunting. Maybe get to your spot, place bag on ground away from you, type of hunting.
Little square separate zipped pocket is a waste, unneeded, & useless. Very weak & flimsy sewing around the pocket onto the sling belt. No vision in the design within this area. Example fix 1, the use of molle webbing would at least give different pocket-type options to bag user. Example fix 2, placing a long/wide spandex webbing loops along the sling belt would allow other options to bag user.
Who ever designed this sling bag must be a tall person. Bag strap has limited shortening options for tighter fit around the body. All bag companies utilize plastic noisy strap snap buckles. With leftover strap webbing hanging out all over. Why not try to use a simple prong or rachet type buckle design with enough strap to tighten to body? Or, an adjustable hook and loop design would allow easy use and rid you of wasted extra strap flapping around.
Sling bags are designed to rest on the back but are not balanced, like a backpack. Obviously, two straps versus one strap design, hence sling bag. When bag is loaded with items, this allows the bag to slide down to the side of the body making it basically more like a purse look and feel. Also, with the bag always sliding down this may hamper arm activities as you are always pushing the bag back to the backside out of your way when not in use. Simple fix, add a small diagonal strap from the front body around the opposite side to the back connecting to the bag. This will balance the bag on the back while not in use.
The bag zipper pockets are a nice size with assorted pockets within. Maybe someone will actually start thinking about placing spandex webbing around the inside of the pockets to allow for vertical organization. Otherwise, the bag is good at placing items within and having to dig around to find your placed items. Not so easy and quiet with gloves on.
I have many packs from companies touting their bags are made for this, that, & best inclass. From AlpsOutdoorz, Tengzing, Trophyline, Game winner, Cabelas/redhead, Badlands & Sitka. No one has yet to design a bag that is no better than a five gallon bucket backpack or a 1970 vanity bathroom suitcase like fannypacks or slingtype packs. Back to the drawing board.
