Diggin it!!

I'm new to the saddle seen and was skeptical as I made my investment but I'm digging this rig! Still making adjustments and after a few weeks I did a 5 hour sit no problem. The product has been amazing so far. The only suggestion i would have right now is the teether needs to be longer and a different color as trees larger than a basketball leaves you wanting a longer teether. I did add the ascender to my lineman and also teether as adjusting the prusik was cumbersome and 2 handed. The platform is perfect size and easily deployed. No worries as it is rock solid after cam in. I'm still tuning the sticks to my liking but in general they bite well into smooth and barky trees and you feel solid when climbing. I'm only giving 4 stars just because of the teether length. If it wasn't for that it would be 5 stars all the way but this is just my humble opinion. You folks at Trophyline did a great job! Shipping and the whole transaction was fast and easy.

Comfortable saddle

The saddle is comfortable for all day hunts. My only complaint is the metal steps. Trying not to make noise in the morning is a down fall with this set up. Best bet is to put out reg climbing sticks if it’s your everyday spot. I also wish you offered ways to attach equipment to the saddle other than Using para cord. But I am happy with it.

The Saddle Gold Standard

Picked this up for 2024 to replace my climber and I’m not disappointed at all. My only regret is not getting a saddle setup sooner. After a few practice runs in the back yard, I’ve already taken my rig out for a few hunts. The Nimbus is absolutely comfortable for sits that last hours. I didnt use knee pads either. The Novix sticks are excellent as well, very sturdy and easy to mount on the tree and the platform IMHO is the perfect size. Shooting from a saddle is by far my favorite elevated platform so far.

As for as cons or concerns go, there are a few things to consider. The edges on the Novix sticks are sharp. You can knock down the edges with sandpaper, but they will wear down straps and rope. You’ll need a way to mount sticks to your saddle and also strap them together. Paracord goes a long way here, but there are some other premade hangers that are cheap and awesome. The set of Novix sticks will also get you maybe 12-15’ up alone. If you want additional height you’ll need aiders. I added a 2-step aider to my first stick and get max about 16-17’. Plenty good for me considering in my neck of the woods it’s hard to get much higher anyway. You’ll also need a saddle hanger. Paracord or plastic carabiners work, but after your 5th or 6th climb you’ll be over it. The Platow pack is REALLY nice to have with this setup. I used my old bowhunting backpack but after my first 2 hunts immediately ordered the Platow and a Ropeman 4. Again, not necessary but really nice to have if you can afford it. This kit includes the allll the essentials, but there are some gaps to fill, and you can certainly get creative with zip ties, paracord, and carabiners to make it work. Absolutely recommend this setup!!!
