The pouches attach easily to the saddle and have plenty of room for a tree tether and a lineman's belt.
At first I thought it was a bit gimmicky. But it's actually very nice to have in the tree. Having back support helps take some weight off the hips. It also folds up nicely and fits in a saddle bag.
This is my first season of saddle hunting. I waited to buy an ascender because the initial investment in just a basic kit wasn't insignificant and I wanted to make sure I was going to stick with it. Well, I love saddle hunting. What I don't love was dealing with adjusting the Prusik knot on the lineman's rope as I went up the tree hanging sticks. I thought there might be a learning curve for an ascender but, nope. Super easy to use. Build quality is great and I have total confidence as I go up and down the tree. I'll probably get one of these for my tether, too. Just a great investment. And, thanks Trophyline for the veteran's discount!
