No regrets. I think the kit has everything you need to get started, and it’s a pretty cool experience. I do feel a couple things could be improved to get that 5-star rating. I think the bag is almost too large for this type of hunting. I literally don’t know what to do with it when I get up. I think there should be more focus on how to manage the climbing sticks headed up the tree. I was also disappointed as I thought I saw a lot of Made in America representation only to see the Made in China sticker on the saddle itself. Finally, after spending over a grand for a complete kit, I think you ought to throw in a ball cap. But again, no regrets. It’s a great product.
Exactly what you’d expect.
I’ve been running ropeman1 for years. I got tired of moving my lineman from one saddle/harness to the next. Going out to woods this summer to hang stands with my belt at home was last straw. I got home that night and ordered a couple more so I can leave the lineman’s belts attached to each setup and never forget them again. Saw these ones in black which I prefer over the flashy blue ones I had previously. Very happy.
This is my first saddle kit. After a bit of looking around, I went for it. I’m a hefty guy and it’s not bad as far as hip pinch. I’ve sat several 3+hr sits and it’s not bad at all.I can’t say if another is better than this because I haven’t tried another. It seems to be a great starter kit.
Very comfortable and light weight. Saddle fits right and looks great. Solid built highly recommend
The Venatic is my first saddle. My whole family decided to try out saddle hunting this year and everyone bought different brands/styles. I chose the Venatic and have not been disappointed. I was skeptical when I first received it due to the lightweight fabric. But after many weeks of use it has held up remarkably well and been comfortable every sit. I’m using the saddle with a DIY one stick stand and it holds up to all the tasks. Comfortable sit, quick climb, easy rappel. I always feel secure in tree or hanging during stand setting/rappelling.
I have had the opportunity to try a tethrd ultralock and phantom for short durations. The Venatic is still my saddle of choice.
If there was any minor issue I’ve noticed it is with the security of added pouches under little to no load. The saddle and pouches are extremely light weight so they have a mind of their own if not loaded. The molle points work fantastic if the pouch is full or weighted heavily. But under light loads I have had a couple pouches unhook from an attachment point. This is probably not unique to the Venatic and I’m usually stuffing the pouches full when I go for long duration sits so it has not been an issue in the field.
Great buy for anyone whether buying their first saddle or looking to change into a durable lightweight saddle for this season.
