The Venatic is my first saddle. My whole family decided to try out saddle hunting this year and everyone bought different brands/styles. I chose the Venatic and have not been disappointed. I was skeptical when I first received it due to the lightweight fabric. But after many weeks of use it has held up remarkably well and been comfortable every sit. I’m using the saddle with a DIY one stick stand and it holds up to all the tasks. Comfortable sit, quick climb, easy rappel. I always feel secure in tree or hanging during stand setting/rappelling.
I have had the opportunity to try a tethrd ultralock and phantom for short durations. The Venatic is still my saddle of choice.
If there was any minor issue I’ve noticed it is with the security of added pouches under little to no load. The saddle and pouches are extremely light weight so they have a mind of their own if not loaded. The molle points work fantastic if the pouch is full or weighted heavily. But under light loads I have had a couple pouches unhook from an attachment point. This is probably not unique to the Venatic and I’m usually stuffing the pouches full when I go for long duration sits so it has not been an issue in the field.
Great buy for anyone whether buying their first saddle or looking to change into a durable lightweight saddle for this season.
This device makes using a linesmen rope so easy. Wish I bought one years ago.
I’m in absolute love with this set up. I did switch up a few things with ropes and went to 8mm ropes, Amstel aiders, and duel ascenders which made this set up the best and most effective for any style and terrain I tackle!! Thank you Trophy Line for the awesome product!
