OFFSET BRACKET

I bought two brackets to mount to two aluminum lock on stands that I had... to do so, I would have to mount a "square aluminum" tube to the stand to accomodate the bracket. I found that I had to go with a 1.25" width tube...ok, so I bought a 1.25" square tube only to find that due to the rounded edges at the bottom of the bracket channel, the tube does not set flush with the bottom of the channel. Also, when I inserted the bolt head or nut in the "bolt channel", neither of these would mount flush due to the same type of rounded edge that had been machined in the channel. Hence, one would have to take flat file & file out these rounded edges or just tightened the "you know what" out of the parts to try to make a secure connection (I wouldn't recommend that for safety). After I got one mounted and tried it on a tree, I found out that the outer-most "wings" or teeth on the bracket are slightly shorter than the middle two "wings" or teeth causing the bracket to almost always grab the tree with only the middle two "wings/teeth". This negated being able to grab the tree with only the outer two wing/teeth on right side or the left side which would be required to use on a "leaning" tree which is why I bought the bracket to begin with! I bought two brackets to do two stands, but, both of them had the same issues. Since, returns are not usually easy for me (I live a long ways from a UPS drop-off), I elected to file the brackets myself to correct the "not bottoming-out" of the tube & bolt issue and I filed down the middle two wing/teeth carefully to equal the outer wing/teeth to make the bracket where it can be used on leaning trees. Hopefully, these issues can be corrected on future runs of these brackets.

Bracket was just as advertised. Well pleased with product.
